Job Summary:
The Sports Philanthropy Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing philanthropic initiatives within the sports organization. This role focuses on leveraging the power of sports to create positive social impact and community engagement. The Sports Philanthropy Director oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of various philanthropic programs, partnerships, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute the organization's sports philanthropy strategy to align with the overall mission and values.
2. Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with community organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders to maximize the impact of philanthropic efforts.
3. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to create and implement programs that address community needs and align with the organization's goals.
4. Manage and lead a team of professionals engaged in sports philanthropy activities.
5. Create and manage the annual sports philanthropy budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and tracking of expenses.
6. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of philanthropic initiatives through data analysis and reporting.
7. Provide regular updates to the Executive Director and other stakeholders on the progress and outcomes of philanthropic programs.
8. Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and donations, to support philanthropic initiatives.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and key stakeholders to ensure ongoing support for sports philanthropy efforts.
10. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote and raise awareness of sports philanthropy initiatives through various channels.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Non-profit Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports philanthropy, community development, or related fields.
3. Strong knowledge of sports industry trends, community engagement strategies, and non-profit management principles.
4. Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing sports philanthropy programs and initiatives.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to evaluating program effectiveness.
8. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders.
9. Experience in budget management and financial planning for philanthropic initiatives.
10. Passion for sports and a deep understanding of the positive impact it can have on communities.
